Como Quijote y Sancho, a hombros de gigantes

Y aquí nos encontramos, querido lector, querida lectora, cual Quijote y Sancho Panza, ante un reto nada desdeñable: editar una revista. Pero no una revista cualquiera, ni de cualquier origen o procedencia. Este Sancho y este Quijote modernos caminamos sentados a hombros de gigantes.

La tradición resulta, por tanto, irrenunciable. Como dijo un hombre sabio: “el pasado está preñado de futuro”. Nuestra labor como editores es tomar el legado de grandes mentores y continuar la senda trazada por aquellos que nos precedieron. Por ello, nuestro reconocimiento a todos ellos, y un especial agradecimiento a Rodolfo Rezola Amelia, editor de la anterior etapa de esta revista, durante cinco años. Esperamos ser dignos de la altura desde la que caminamos.

Emprendemos pues un camino que ya fue iniciado hace 27 años, bajo el nombre de “Aprender a Pensar”. Cualquiera que esté familiarizado con el Programa de Filosofía para Niños entenderá por qué entonces y por qué ahora la palabra “pensar” ocupa un lugar protagónico en el título. No es casualidad tampoco que propongamos no solo pensar, sino pensar juntos.

Por una parte, “Pensar” es y ha sido siempre el principal objetivo del programa de Filosofía para Niños, entendiendo el pensamiento como una habilidad que todos y todas poseemos y podemos practicar para dotar de sentido nuestra experiencia. Para ello, nada mejor que la filosofía. En palabras de Lipman: “la filosofía es sumamente beneficiosa para las personas que buscan formular conceptos que puedan representar con eficacia aspectos de su experiencia vital”. Pero no la filosofía entendida solamente como teoría, sino, sobre todo, como práctica. De ahí que hayamos escogido un verbo, “pensar”, en lugar de un substantivo como “pensamiento”, para indicar así la importancia de la acción en la filosofía, la importancia del movimiento.

Por otra parte, “Juntos” hace referencia a la idea de comunidad. Contrariamente a la asunción tradicional de que el pensamiento es algo interior y privado, propio del solipsismo metódico de la Modernidad -con Descartes y Kant como máximos exponentes- Lipman establece una relación bidireccional entre diálogo y pensamiento: el pensamiento genera el diálogo, y el diálogo genera pensamiento. Además, el diálogo con los otros permite lo que Lipman llama la “interiorización del diálogo”: en el diálogo no solo respondemos en nuestro interior a las opiniones de los demás, sino que reproducimos los pensamientos que acabamos de escuchar. Aprendemos a pensar mejor observando cómo piensan los demás. Aprendemos a pensar mejor con el otro. Ideas que ya están presentes en la psicología cognitiva y social de George Herbert Mead y de Lev Vygotsky. Este último, por ejemplo, afirma que existe una diferencia entre la manera de resolver los problemas de manera individual y la manera de resolverlos con otros, y esa diferencia es cualitativa; es una diferencia en el nivel de ejecución: resolvemos mejor los problemas cuando los resolvemos con otros.

En este primer número nos hemos querido centrar justamente en el encuentro y la palabra con el otro a través del uso de diversos lenguajes. Los temas seleccionados abarcan diferentes aspectos de la aplicación de Filosofía para Niños y las potencialidades del Programa para contribuir al desarrollo de habilidades de pensamiento, actitudes éticas y valores interculturales, con especial énfasis en el uso de recursos y materiales que respondan a las actuales necesidades educativas. La filosofía, como la sociedad, mantiene su movimiento sin pausa, atenta a las exigencias de la época actual.  Y dado que un aspecto significativo de nuestra sociedad es la influencia de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, Zoe Martín Lago presenta, en el primer artículo, un refrescante análisis de las muchas oportunidades que las nuevas tecnologías de software libre pueden ofrecer al Programa de Filosofía para Niños, no tanto como herramienta, sino más bien como contenido con y sobre el que reflexionar acerca de cómo la tecnología nos ha transformado a nosotros mismos, modificando las formas de relacionarnos, de actuar y hasta de pensar.

Los tres artículos siguientes, de Chema Sánchez Alcón, Víctor Andrés Rojas y Adolfo Agúndez-Rodriguez, se ocupan específicamente de la cuestión “Filosofía para Niños, cosmopolitismo e inclusión”. Los tres forman el dossier temático de este número. En cada número de esta nueva etapa de la revista, este dossier temático será siempre presentado a partir de la obra de uno o varios artistas. En este caso, el trabajo en vidrio soplado sobre el tema de “Las Fronteras”, de la artista catalana Montserrat Durán Muntadas y del quebequense Jean-Simon Trottier, nos sirve para introducir un dossier temático sobre una cuestión socialmente viva y fundamental, por tanto, en la educación contemporánea.

La sección dedicada a la presentación de Material Pedagógico cuenta, en esta ocasión, con las contribuciones de José Moral Torralbo e Ignacio Terrado Rourera. En el primer caso, el autor presenta un trabajo en proceso de evolución que intenta conjugar los recursos de la psicología discursiva con el diálogo en comunidad y la performance artística para subrayar la importancia del lenguaje en la construcción de la realidad. El segundo, nos regala una obra, la última novela de Matthew Lipman que faltaba por traducir al español: Suki.

Pensada para alumnos de los últimos cursos de Secundaria y Bachillerato, la novela se propone indagar en comunidad una cuestión fundamental que se presenta siempre en relación con el desarrollo de la creatividad y de las destrezas de escritura: ¿Tenemos algo que decir que valga la pena decir? Y si lo tenemos, ¿cómo pode¬mos decirlo bien?
La entrevista de este número está a cargo de Georgina Aimé Tapia González, que nos acerca al mundo de la persona entrevistada, María Teresa de la Garza. En ese diálogo encontramos una narración del nacimiento y evolución de la Filosofía para niños en México, de sus posibilidades y de sus desafíos. A continuación de la entrevista de Georgina, hemos querido presentar un comentario crítico sobre la misma, a cargo de Magda Costa Carvalho que, al hilo de la conversación con Teresa de la Garza, nos acerca, a su vez, a algunos aspectos de la realidad de la Filosofía para niños en Portugal. Gracias a la contribución de esta autora, contamos en este número con un artículo en portugués. Es un objetivo del equipo editorial el que las contribuciones en portugués sean más abundantes en el futuro. Bajo esta premisa se ha formado ya un equipo científico encargado de la revisión de artículos en esta lengua. Desde aquí animamos a todos los autores y autoras interesados en publicar en portugués que nos envíen sus propuestas para el segundo número de la revista.

En la sección de Crónicas, presentamos dos artículos. El primero, sobre el Congreso Iberoamericano de Filosofía para Niños celebrado en Gijón en 2016, viene firmado por Myriam García Rodríguez. El segundo, de Luís Alberto Prieto, es una Crónica a modo de celebración del 25 Aniversario del Centro de Filosofía para Niños de España, del cual el autor es Presidente.

Este primer número de la nueva etapa de la revista se cierra con las reseñas de cuatro obras publicadas recientemente en el último año y cuya lectura nos animamos a recomendar: Filosofía mínima, de Angélica Sátiro, reseñado por Félix de Castro y Chema Sánchez Alcón; Lectura de Nietzsche. Excesivamente humano, de Angélica Sátiro, reseñado por Xavier Alsina González; Pensamiento libre para personas con discapacidad intelectual, de Chema Sánchez Alcón, reseñado por Fátima Álvarez; y, por último, El lugar del pensamiento en la educación. Textos de Mathew Lipman, traducido y editado por Manuela Gómez, y reseñado por Irene de Puig

Pensar Juntos es, por tanto, sinergia, producto de colaboraciones, influencias y voces diversas, pues, al igual que nuestro pensamiento, los proyectos de los que formamos parte también se enriquecen con la mirada del otro.

Del mismo modo, una revista como esta se construye y moldea de la mano de aquellos que caminan a nuestro lado. Cualquiera que sea tu caso, lector o potencial autor, queremos darte la bienvenida a este proyecto que es de todos.
